²³ Those who ^(A)go down to the sea in ships,
Who do business on many waters;
²⁴ They have seen the works of Yahweh,
And His wondrous deeds in the deep.
²⁵ He ^(B)spoke and set up a ^(C)stormy wind,
Which ^(D)raised up the waves ^[a]of the sea.
²⁶ They went up to the heavens, they went down to the depths;
Their soul ^(E)melted away in the ^[b]calamity.
²⁷ They staggered and ^(F)swayed like a drunken man,
And all their wisdom was swallowed up.
²⁸ Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble,
And He brought them out of their distresses.

^6 (A)Whatever Yahweh pleases, He does,
In heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
⁷ The One who ^(B)causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth;
Who ^(C)makes lightnings for the rain,
Who ^(D)brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
