Psalm 107:20-30
New American Standard Bible
20 He (A)sent His word and (B)healed them,
And (C)saved them from their [a]destruction.
21 (D)They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy,
And for His [b]wonders to the sons of mankind!
22 They shall also offer (E)sacrifices of thanksgiving,
And (F)tell of His works with joyful singing.
23 Those who (G)go down to the sea in ships,
Who do business on great waters;
24 They have seen the works of the Lord,
And His [c]wonders in the deep.
25 For He (H)spoke and raised a (I)stormy wind,
Which (J)lifted the waves [d]of the sea.
26 They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths;
Their soul (K)melted away in their misery.
27 They reeled and (L)staggered like a drunken person,
And [e]were at their wits’ end.
28 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brought them out of their distresses.
29 He (M)caused the storm to be still,
So that the waves [f]of the sea were hushed.
30 Then they were glad because they were quiet,
So He guided them to their desired harbor.

Psalm 107:20-30
New Living Translation
20 He sent out his word and healed them,
snatching them from the door of death.
21 Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving
and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.
23 Some went off to sea in ships,
plying the trade routes of the world.
24 They, too, observed the Lord’s power in action,
his impressive works on the deepest seas.
25 He spoke, and the winds rose,
stirring up the waves.
26 Their ships were tossed to the heavens
and plunged again to the depths;
the sailors cringed in terror.
27 They reeled and staggered like drunkards
and were at their wits’ end.
28 “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
29 He calmed the storm to a whisper
and stilled the waves.
30 What a blessing was that stillness
as he brought them safely into harbor!
Psalm 107:20-30
Contemporary English Version
20 By the power of his own word,
he healed you and saved you
from destruction.
21 You should praise the Lord
for his love
and for the wonderful things
he does for all of us.
22 You should celebrate
by offering sacrifices
and singing joyful songs
to tell what he has done.
23 Some of you made a living
by sailing the mighty sea,
24 and you saw the miracles
the Lord performed there.
25 At his command a storm arose,
and waves covered the sea.
26 You were tossed to the sky
and to the ocean depths,
until things looked so bad
that you lost your courage.
27 You staggered like drunkards
and gave up all hope.
28 You were in serious trouble,
but you prayed to the Lord,
and he rescued you.
29 He made the storm stop
and the sea be quiet.
30 You were happy because of this,
and he brought you to the port
where you wanted to go.
Psalm 107:20-30
Living Bible
20 He spoke, and they were healed—snatched from the door of death. 21 Oh, that these men would praise the Lord for his loving-kindness and for all of his wonderful deeds! 22 Let them tell him thank you as their sacrifice and sing about his glorious deeds.
23 And then there are the sailors sailing the seven seas, plying the trade routes of the world. 24 They, too, observe the power of God in action. 25 He calls to the storm winds; the waves rise high. 26 Their ships are tossed to the heavens and sink again to the depths; the sailors cringe in terror. 27 They reel and stagger like drunkards and are at their wit’s end. 28 Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and he saves them. 29 He calms the storm and stills the waves. 30 What a blessing is that stillness as he brings them safely into harbor!
