Psalm 105:1-11
New International Version
Psalm 105(A)
1 Give praise to the Lord,(B) proclaim his name;(C)
make known among the nations what he has done.
2 Sing to him,(D) sing praise to him;(E)
tell of all his wonderful acts.(F)
3 Glory in his holy name;(G)
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
4 Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face(H) always.
5 Remember the wonders(I) he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,(J)
6 you his servants, the descendants of Abraham,(K)
his chosen(L) ones, the children of Jacob.
7 He is the Lord our God;
his judgments are in all the earth.
8 He remembers his covenant(M) forever,
the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
9 the covenant he made with Abraham,(N)
the oath he swore to Isaac.
10 He confirmed it(O) to Jacob as a decree,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant:(P)
11 “To you I will give the land of Canaan(Q)
as the portion you will inherit.”(R)
Psalm 105:37-45
New International Version
37 He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold,(A)
and from among their tribes no one faltered.
38 Egypt was glad when they left,
because dread of Israel(B) had fallen on them.
39 He spread out a cloud(C) as a covering,
and a fire to give light at night.(D)
40 They asked,(E) and he brought them quail;(F)
he fed them well with the bread of heaven.(G)
41 He opened the rock,(H) and water gushed out;
it flowed like a river in the desert.
42 For he remembered his holy promise(I)
given to his servant Abraham.
43 He brought out his people with rejoicing,(J)
his chosen ones with shouts of joy;
44 he gave them the lands of the nations,(K)
and they fell heir to what others had toiled(L) for—
45 that they might keep his precepts
and observe his laws.(M)

Jeremiah 30:12-22
New International Version
12 “This is what the Lord says:
“‘Your wound(A) is incurable,
your injury beyond healing.(B)
13 There is no one to plead your cause,(C)
no remedy for your sore,
no healing(D) for you.
14 All your allies(E) have forgotten you;
they care nothing for you.
I have struck you as an enemy(F) would
and punished you as would the cruel,(G)
because your guilt is so great
and your sins(H) so many.
15 Why do you cry out over your wound,
your pain that has no cure?(I)
Because of your great guilt and many sins
I have done these things to you.(J)
16 “‘But all who devour(K) you will be devoured;
all your enemies will go into exile.(L)
Those who plunder(M) you will be plundered;
all who make spoil of you I will despoil.
17 But I will restore you to health
and heal(N) your wounds,’
declares the Lord,
‘because you are called an outcast,(O)
Zion for whom no one cares.’(P)
18 “This is what the Lord says:
“‘I will restore the fortunes(Q) of Jacob’s tents(R)
and have compassion(S) on his dwellings;
the city will be rebuilt(T) on her ruins,
and the palace will stand in its proper place.
19 From them will come songs(U) of thanksgiving(V)
and the sound of rejoicing.(W)
I will add to their numbers,(X)
and they will not be decreased;
I will bring them honor,(Y)
and they will not be disdained.
20 Their children(Z) will be as in days of old,
and their community will be established(AA) before me;
I will punish(AB) all who oppress them.
21 Their leader(AC) will be one of their own;
their ruler will arise from among them.(AD)
I will bring him near(AE) and he will come close to me—
for who is he who will devote himself
to be close to me?’
declares the Lord.
22 “‘So you will be my people,(AF)
and I will be your God.(AG)’”
John 12:36-43
New International Version
36 Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.”(A) When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.(B)
Belief and Unbelief Among the Jews
37 Even after Jesus had performed so many signs(C) in their presence, they still would not believe in him. 38 This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet:
39 For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere:
40 “He has blinded their eyes
and hardened their hearts,
so they can neither see with their eyes,
nor understand with their hearts,
nor turn—and I would heal them.”[b](E)
41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory(F) and spoke about him.(G)
42 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him.(H) But because of the Pharisees(I) they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;(J) 43 for they loved human praise(K) more than praise from God.(L)
