13 As (A)a father shows compassion to his children,
    so the Lord shows compassion (B)to those who fear him.
14 For he knows our frame;[a]
    he (C)remembers that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are like (D)grass;
    he flourishes like (E)a flower of the field;
16 for (F)the wind passes over it, and (G)it is gone,
    and (H)its place knows it no more.
17 But (I)the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on (J)those who fear him,
    and his righteousness to (K)children's children,
18 to those who (L)keep his covenant
    and (M)remember to do his commandments.
