and ruthless men seek my life.

³Arrogant foes are attacking me;^(A)
ruthless people^(B) are trying to kill me^(C)—
people without regard for God.^[a]^(D)

³For strangers have risen up against me,
And oppressors have sought after my life;
They have not set God before them. Selah
