Salmos 53
O Livro
Salmo didático de David, de acordo com Maalate[a]. Para o diretor do coro.
53 Diz o louco para consigo mesmo: “Deus não existe!”
Todos se têm corrompido e degenerado;
não há ninguém que faça o bem.
2 Deus olha desde os céus para a humanidade,
para ver se existe alguém
que saiba conduzir-se com sabedoria
e busque Deus.
3 Todos se desviaram e juntamente se corromperam;
Deus espalhará os ossos desses que te cercavam;
estão condenados, porque Deus os rejeitou.
6 Que bom seria se já tivesse vindo de Sião
a salvação do povo de Deus!
Que alegria será quando Deus libertar
os presos do seu povo e salvar Israel!

Psalm 53
New King James Version
Folly of the Godless, and the Restoration of Israel(A)
To the Chief Musician. Set to “Mahalath.” A [a]Contemplation of David.
53 The (B)fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity;
(C)There is none who does good.
2 God looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who (D)seek God.
3 Every one of them has turned aside;
They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
No, not one.
4 Have the workers of iniquity (E)no knowledge,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And do not call upon God?
5 (F)There they are in great fear
Where no fear was,
For God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you;
You have put them to shame,
Because God has despised them.
6 (G)Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
When God brings back [b]the captivity of His people,
Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

GOD’S WORD Translation
For the choir director; according to mahalath,[a] a maskil by David.
53 Godless fools say in their hearts,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt.
They do disgusting things.
There is no one who does good things.
2 God looks down from heaven on Adam’s descendants
to see if there is anyone who acts wisely,
if there is anyone who seeks help from God.
3 Everyone has fallen away.
Together they have become rotten to the core.
No one, not even one person, does good things.
4 Are all those troublemakers,
those who devour my people as if they were devouring food,
so ignorant that they do not call on God?
5 There they are—panic-stricken—
⌞but⌟ there was no reason to panic,
because God has scattered the bones
of those who set up camp against you.
You put them to shame.
After all, God has rejected them.
6 If only salvation for Israel would come from Zion!
When God restores the fortunes of his people,
Jacob will rejoice.
Israel will be glad.
