⁵ Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him^(A) and he will do this:
⁶ He will make your righteous reward^(B) shine like the dawn,^(C)
    your vindication like the noonday sun.

⁷ Be still^(D) before the Lord
    and wait patiently^(E) for him;
do not fret^(F) when people succeed in their ways,^(G)
    when they carry out their wicked schemes.^(H)

⁸ Refrain from anger^(I) and turn from wrath;
    do not fret^(J)—it leads only to evil.
⁹ For those who are evil will be destroyed,^(K)
    but those who hope^(L) in the Lord will inherit the land.^(M)
