⁹^(A)The Lord watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow;
^(B)But the way of the wicked He ^[a]turns upside down.

⁹The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

⁹The Lord ^(A)watches over strangers;
He ^[a]^(B)supports the fatherless and the widow,
But He ^[b]thwarts ^(C)the way of the wicked.

⁹The Lord watches over the foreigner^(A)
and sustains the fatherless^(B) and the widow,^(C)
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
