12 Behold, (A)these are the wicked;
And always (B)at ease, they have increased in wealth.
13 Surely (C)in vain I have [a]kept my heart pure
And (D)washed my hands in innocence;
14 For I have been stricken (E)all day long
And [b](F)chastened every morning.

15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,”
Behold, I would have betrayed the (G)generation of Your children.
16 When I (H)pondered to understand this,
It was [c]troublesome in my sight
17 Until I came into the [d](I)sanctuary of God;

16 Then those who [a]feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord (E)gave attention and heard it, and a (F)book of remembrance was written before Him for those who [b]fear the Lord and who esteem His name. 17 “They will be (G)Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “on the (H)day that I [c]prepare My [d](I)own possession, and I will [e]spare them as a man [f](J)spares his own son who serves him.” 18 So you will again (K)distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
