Psalm 42:8-11

New International Version

⁸ By day the Lord directs his love,^(A)
    at night^(B) his song^(C) is with me—
    a prayer to the God of my life.^(D)

⁹ I say to God my Rock,^(E)
    “Why have you forgotten^(F) me?
Why must I go about mourning,^(G)
    oppressed^(H) by the enemy?”^(I)
10 My bones suffer mortal agony^(J)
    as my foes taunt^(K) me,
saying to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”^(L)

¹¹ Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
    for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.^(M)
