⁷ They say, “The Lord does not see;^(A)
    the God of Jacob^(B) takes no notice.”

¹⁵ Woe to those who go to great depths
    to hide^(A) their plans from the Lord,
who do their work in darkness and think,
    “Who sees us?^(B) Who will know?”^(C)

¹¹ He says to himself, “God will never notice;^(A)
    he covers his face and never sees.”^(B)

¹² Arise,^(C) Lord! Lift up your hand,^(D) O God.
    Do not forget the helpless.^(E)
13 Why does the wicked man revile God?^(F)
    Why does he say to himself,
    “He won’t call me to account”?^(G)

¹² At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps
    and punish those who are complacent,^(A)
    who are like wine left on its dregs,^(B)
who think, ‘The Lord will do nothing,^(C)
    either good or bad.’^(D)

⁷ See what they spew from their mouths^(A)—
    the words from their lips are sharp as swords,^(B)
    and they think, “Who can hear us?”^(C)

¹² “Is not God in the heights of heaven?^(A)
    And see how lofty are the highest stars!
¹³ Yet you say, ‘What does God know?^(B)
    Does he judge through such darkness?^(C)
