    rise up against the rage of my enemies.^(B)
    Awake,^(C) my God; decree justice.

²³ Love the Lord, all his faithful people!^(A)
    The Lord preserves those who are true to him,^(B)
    but the proud he pays back^(C) in full.

⁶ Give back to her as she has given;
    pay her back^(A) double^(B) for what she has done.
    Pour her a double portion from her own cup.^(C)
7 Give her as much torment and grief
    as the glory and luxury she gave herself.^(D)
In her heart she boasts,
    ‘I sit enthroned as queen.
I am not a widow;^[a]
    I will never mourn.’^(E)
8 Therefore in one day^(F) her plagues will overtake her:
    death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,^(G)
    for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.

⁹ Your hand will be lifted up^(A) in triumph over your enemies,
    and all your foes will be destroyed.
