¹⁴ What then shall we say?^(A) Is God unjust? Not at all!^(B)

⁴ and into an inheritance^(A) that can never perish, spoil or fade.^(B) This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,^{(C) 5} who through faith are shielded by God’s power^(D) until the coming of the salvation^(E) that is ready to be revealed^(F) in the last time.

⁶ God is just:^(A) He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you^{(B) 7} and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven^(C) in blazing fire^(D) with his powerful angels.^(E)

²³ May God himself, the God of peace,^(A) sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul^(B) and body be kept blameless^(C) at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.^{(D) 24} The one who calls^(E) you is faithful,^(F) and he will do it.^(G)

⁸ He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless^(A) on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.^{(B) 9} God is faithful,^(C) who has called you^(D) into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.^(E)
