¹² For ^(A)I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on ^(B)all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: ^(C)I am the Lord. ^13 (D)The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.

²³ He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only ^(A)Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark.

³⁷ the men who brought up a bad report of the land—^(A)died by plague before the Lord. ³⁸ Of those men who went to spy out the land, ^(B)only Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive.

¹⁰ And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, ^(A)just as he said, these ^(B)forty-five years since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now, behold, I am this day ^(C)eighty-five years old.
