⁹ Keep me from ^(A)the snares they have laid for me,
And from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

^7 (A)Our soul has escaped ^(B)as a bird from the snare of the ^[a]fowlers;
The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

²³ Till an arrow struck his liver.
^(A)As a bird hastens to the snare,
He did not know it ^[a]would cost his life.

^10 (A)He gives rain on the earth,
And sends waters on the fields.
^11 (B)He sets on high those who are lowly,
And those who mourn are lifted to safety.
^12 (C)He frustrates the devices of the crafty,
So that their hands cannot carry out their plans.
¹³ He catches the ^(D)wise in their own craftiness,
And the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them.
¹⁴ They meet with darkness in the daytime,
And grope at noontime as in the night.
¹⁵ But ^(E)He saves the needy from the sword,
From the mouth of the mighty,
And from their hand.
^16 (F)So the poor have hope,
And injustice shuts her mouth.

⁵ Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
And like a bird from the hand of the ^[a]fowler.

¹² For ^(A)man also does not know his time:
Like fish taken in a cruel net,
Like birds caught in a snare,
So the sons of men are ^(B)snared in an evil time,
When it falls suddenly upon them.
