¹⁰ And I will appoint a place for my people Israel ^(A)and will plant them, so that they may dwell in their own place ^(B)and be disturbed no more. ^(C)And violent men shall afflict them no more, as formerly, ^11 (D)from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel. And ^(E)I will give you rest from all your enemies. Moreover, the Lord declares to you that ^(F)the Lord will make you a house. ^12 (G)When your days are fulfilled and ^(H)you lie down with your fathers, ^(I)I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. ^13 (J)He shall build a house for my name, and ^(K)I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. ^14 (L)I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, ^(M)I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, ^15 (N)but my steadfast love will not depart from him, ^(O)as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you. ^16 (P)And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me.^{[a] (Q)}Your throne shall be established forever.’”

^16 (A)‘Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, ^(B)that my name might be there. ^(C)But I chose David to be over my people Israel.’

²¹ but this one was made a priest with an oath by the one who said to him:

^30 (A)Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that ^(B)God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,

⁵ Afterward ^(A)the children of Israel shall return and ^(B)seek the Lord their God, and ^(C)David their king, ^(D)and they shall come in fear to the Lord and to his goodness in the ^(E)latter days.
