¹⁷ Show me a sign for good,
That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed,
Because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

^20 (A)You, who have shown me great and severe troubles,
^(B)Shall revive me again,
And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
²¹ You shall increase my greatness,
And comfort me on every side.

40 I ^(B)waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.

^8 (A)Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
^(B)When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light to me.
^9 (C)I will bear the indignation of the Lord,
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He pleads my ^(D)case
And executes justice for me.
He will bring me forth to the light;
I will see His righteousness.
¹⁰ Then she who is my enemy will see,
And ^(E)shame will cover her who said to me,
^(F)“Where is the Lord your God?”
My eyes will see her;
Now she will be trampled down
Like mud in the streets.

^29 (A)Let my accusers be clothed with shame,
And let them cover themselves with their own disgrace as with a mantle.
