⁴ One thing^(A) I ask from the Lord,
    this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,^(B)
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
    and to seek him in his temple.

⁶ Surely your goodness and love^(A) will follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;^(B)
    make known among the nations^(C) what he has done,
    and proclaim that his name is exalted.^(D)
5 Sing^(E) to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;^(F)
    let this be known to all the world.

⁸ My mouth^(A) is filled with your praise,
    declaring your splendor^(B) all day long.

¹¹ Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
    for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.^(A)

¹⁵ My mouth will tell^(A) of your righteous deeds,^(B)
    of your saving acts all day long—
    though I know not how to relate them all.

“they are before the throne of God^(A)
    and serve him^(B) day and night in his temple;^(C)
and he who sits on the throne^(D)
    will shelter them with his presence.^(E)
