⁴² and with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals and the musical instruments of God. Now the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers.

⁶ Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests regularly blew the trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God.

²⁴ Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, ^(A)were to blow the trumpets before the ark of God; and ^(B)Obed-Edom and Jehiah, doorkeepers for the ark.

²³ So he said, “Why are you going to him today? It is neither the ^(A)New Moon nor the Sabbath.”

And she said, ^[a]“It is well.”

^15 (A)Seven days you shall keep a sacred feast to the Lord your God in the place which the Lord chooses, because the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you surely rejoice.

Monthly Offerings

^11 (A)‘At the beginnings of your months you shall present a burnt offering to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs in their first year, without blemish;

³ and you ^(A)make an offering by fire to the Lord, a burnt offering or a sacrifice, ^(B)to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering or ^(C)in your appointed feasts, to make a ^(D)sweet^[a] aroma to the Lord, from the herd or the flock,

Two Silver Trumpets

10 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ² “Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for ^(A)calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps. ³ When ^(B)they blow both of them, all the congregation shall gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. ⁴ But if they blow only one, then the leaders, the ^(C)heads of the divisions of Israel, shall gather to you. ⁵ When you sound the ^(D)advance, ^(E)the camps that lie on the east side shall then begin their journey. ⁶ When you sound the advance the second time, then the camps that lie ^(F)on the south side shall begin their journey; they shall sound the call for them to begin their journeys. ⁷ And when the assembly is to be gathered together, ^(G)you shall blow, but not ^(H)sound the advance. ^8 (I)The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and these shall be to you as an ^[a]ordinance forever throughout your generations.
