¹⁶ “O Lord, ^(A)according to all your righteous acts, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, ^(B)your holy hill, ^(C)because for our sins, and for ^(D)the iniquities of our fathers, ^(E)Jerusalem and your people have become ^(F)a byword among all who are around us.

¹⁵ And I will not let you hear anymore ^(A)the reproach of the nations, and you shall no longer bear the disgrace of the peoples and no longer cause your nation to stumble, declares the Lord God.”

³ therefore prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord God: Precisely because ^(A)they made you desolate and crushed you from all sides, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and ^(B)you became the talk and evil gossip of the people,

¹² And you shall know that I am the Lord.

^(A)“I have heard all the revilings that you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are laid desolate; ^(B)they are given us to devour.’

Restore Us to Yourself, O Lord

¹⁸ “For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ^(A)As my anger and my wrath were poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so my wrath will be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. ^(B)You shall become an execration, a horror, a curse, and a taunt. You shall see this place no more.
