Footnotes

  1. 2 Timothy 2:15 That is, one approved after being tested

And (A)the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
    the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
    the Spirit of counsel and might,
    the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.
(B)He shall not judge by (C)what his eyes see,
    or decide disputes by (D)what his ears hear,
but (E)with righteousness he shall judge the poor,
    and decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
and he shall (F)strike the earth with the rod of his mouth,
    and (G)with the breath of his lips (H)he shall kill the wicked.

15 Then the Lord said to me, “Take once more the equipment of (A)a foolish shepherd. 16 For behold, I am raising up in the land a shepherd (B)who does not care for those being destroyed, or seek the young or heal the maimed or nourish the healthy, but (C)devours the flesh of the fat ones, tearing off even their hoofs.

17 (D)“Woe to my worthless shepherd,

Let his arm be wholly withered,

I Will Walk with Integrity

A Psalm of David.

101 I will sing of (A)steadfast love and justice;
    to you, O Lord, I will make music.
I will (B)ponder the way (C)that is blameless.
    Oh when will you (D)come to me?
I will (E)walk with (F)integrity of heart
    within my house;
I will not set before my eyes
    anything (G)that is worthless.
I hate the work of those who (H)fall away;
    it shall not cling to me.
(I)A perverse heart shall be far from me;
    I will (J)know nothing of evil.

Whoever slanders his neighbor (K)secretly
    I will (L)destroy.
Whoever has a (M)haughty look and an (N)arrogant heart
    I will not endure.

I will look with favor on the faithful in the land,
    that they may dwell with me;
he who walks in (O)the way that is blameless
    shall minister to me.

No one who (P)practices deceit
    shall dwell in my house;
no one who utters lies
    shall (Q)continue before my eyes.

(R)Morning by morning I will destroy
    all the wicked in the land,
(S)cutting off all (T)the evildoers
    from (U)the city of the Lord.

And Solomon said, “You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because (A)he walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and (B)have given him a son to sit on his throne this day. And now, O Lord my God, (C)you have made your servant king in place of David my father, (D)although I am but a little child. I do not know (E)how to go out or come in. (F)And your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people, (G)too many to be numbered or counted for multitude. (H)Give your servant therefore an understanding mind (I)to govern your people, that I may (J)discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”
