⁴ For if God did not spare angels when they sinned,^(A) but sent them to hell,^[a] putting them in chains of darkness^[b] to be held for judgment;^{(B) 5} if he did not spare the ancient world^(C) when he brought the flood on its ungodly people,^(D) but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;^(E)

³² He who did not spare his own Son,^(A) but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

“‘Then you will know that I am the Lord.’^(B)

¹⁰ So I will not look on them with pity^(A) or spare them, but I will bring down on their own heads what they have done.^(B)”

¹⁸ Therefore I will deal with them in anger;^(A) I will not look on them with pity^(B) or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen^(C) to them.”

“‘Then you will know that it is I the Lord who strikes you.^(C)

¹¹ Therefore as surely as I live,^(A) declares the Sovereign^(B) Lord, because you have defiled my sanctuary^(C) with all your vile images^(D) and detestable practices,^(E) I myself will shave you; I will not look on you with pity or spare you.^(F)
