    or a bride her attire?
Yet my people have forgotten me,

²¹ They forgot God, their Savior,
    who had done great things in Egypt,^(A)
22 wondrous works in the land of Ham,
    and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.^[a](B)

⁷     so that they should set their hope in God,
and not forget the works of God,
    but keep his commandments;^(A)

¹⁸ You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you;^[a]
    you forgot the God who gave you birth.^(A)
