²⁰ They are^[a] like a dream when one awakes;
    on awaking you despise their phantoms.^(A)

⁸ They will fly away like a dream and not be found;
    they will be chased away like a vision of the night.^(A)

⁶⁵ Then the Lord awoke as from sleep,
    like a warrior shouting because of wine.^(A)

⁷ And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel,
    all that fight against her and her stronghold and who distress her,
    shall be like a dream, a vision of the night.^(A)
8 Just as when a hungry person dreams of eating
    and wakes up still hungry
or a thirsty person dreams of drinking
    and wakes up faint, still thirsty,
so shall the multitude of all the nations be
    that fight against Mount Zion.^(B)

⁶     Surely everyone goes about like a shadow.
Surely for nothing they are in turmoil;
    they heap up and do not know who will gather.^(A)
