⁶ Let their way be ^(A)dark and slippery,
And let the angel of the Lord pursue them.

¹² “Therefore^(A) their way shall be to them
Like slippery ways;
In the darkness they shall be driven on
And fall in them;
For I ^(B)will bring disaster on them,
The year of their punishment,” says the Lord.

^35 (A)Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;
Their foot shall slip in due time;
^(B)For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.’

²³ He has brought on them their own iniquity,
And shall ^[a]cut them off in their own wickedness;
The Lord our God shall cut them off.

⁷ When ^(A)the wicked ^[a]spring up like grass,
And when all the workers of iniquity flourish,
It is that they may be destroyed forever.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked in great power,
And spreading himself like a native green tree.
³⁶ Yet ^[a]he passed away, and behold, he was no more;
Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.
