⁹ May the desert tribes bow before him
    and his enemies lick the dust.

¹⁷ They will lick dust^(A) like a snake,
    like creatures that crawl on the ground.
They will come trembling^(B) out of their dens;
    they will turn in fear^(C) to the Lord our God
    and will be afraid of you.

²³ Kings^(A) will be your foster fathers,
    and their queens your nursing mothers.^(B)
They will bow down^(C) before you with their faces to the ground;
    they will lick the dust^(D) at your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;^(E)
    those who hope^(F) in me will not be disappointed.^(G)”

⁶ He will judge the nations,^(A) heaping up the dead^(B)
    and crushing the rulers^(C) of the whole earth.

“Sit at my right hand^(B)
    until I make your enemies
    a footstool for your feet.”^(C)

²⁹ All the rich^(A) of the earth will feast and worship;^(B)
    all who go down to the dust^(C) will kneel before him—
    those who cannot keep themselves alive.^(D)

⁸ Your hand will lay hold^(A) on all your enemies;
    your right hand will seize your foes.
⁹ When you appear for battle,
    you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace.
The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath,
    and his fire will consume them.^(B)
