^18 (A)Behold, I and ^(B)the children whom the Lord has given me are signs and portents in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion.

⁹ For I think that God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, ^(A)like men sentenced to death, because we ^(B)have become a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men.

^13 (A)Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

⁸ through honor and dishonor, ^(A)through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; ⁹ as unknown, and ^(B)yet well known; ^(C)as dying, and behold, we live; ^(D)as punished, and yet not killed; ^10 (E)as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; ^(F)as poor, yet making many rich; ^(G)as having nothing, ^(H)yet possessing everything.

³⁴ And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed ^(A)for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign ^(B)that is opposed
