    but like a lion he broke^(B) all my bones;^(C)
    day and night^(D) you made an end of me.

⁷ So I will be like a lion^(A) to them,
    like a leopard I will lurk by the path.
⁸ Like a bear robbed of her cubs,^(B)
    I will attack them and rip them open;
like a lion^(C) I will devour them—
    a wild animal will tear them apart.^(D)

¹² A king’s rage is like the roar of a lion,^(A)
    but his favor is like dew^(B) on the grass.^(C)

¹⁵ But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee;^(A)
    assailants gathered against me without my knowledge.
    They slandered^(B) me without ceasing.

¹³ Roaring lions^(A) that tear their prey^(B)
    open their mouths wide^(C) against me.
