^19 (A)Repent therefore, and ^(B)turn back, that ^(C)your sins may be blotted out,

¹⁰ Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. ^(A)Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

³⁰ “Therefore ^(A)I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. ^(B)Repent and turn from all your transgressions, ^(C)lest iniquity be your ruin.^[a]

¹¹ Say to them, ^(A)As I live, declares the Lord God, ^(B)I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; ^(C)turn back, turn back from your evil ways, ^(D)for why will you die, O house of Israel?

²³ But to them it will seem like a false divination. ^(A)They have sworn solemn oaths, but he brings their guilt to remembrance, ^(B)that they may be taken.

^9 (A)“Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord, say:

(Or ^(E)shall we rejoice? You have despised the rod, my son, ^(F)with everything of wood.)^{[a] 11} So the sword is given to be polished, that it may be grasped in the hand. It is sharpened and polished ^(G)to be given into the hand of the slayer.
