⁶ Lord, the Lord Almighty,
    may those who hope in you
    not be disgraced because of me;
God of Israel,
    may those who seek you
    not be put to shame because of me.

²³ Kings^(A) will be your foster fathers,
    and their queens your nursing mothers.^(B)
They will bow down^(C) before you with their faces to the ground;
    they will lick the dust^(D) at your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;^(E)
    those who hope^(F) in me will not be disappointed.^(G)”

¹⁸ Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,^(A)
    who alone does marvelous deeds.^(B)

²⁶ May all who gloat^(A) over my distress^(B)
    be put to shame^(C) and confusion;
may all who exalt themselves over me^(D)
    be clothed with shame and disgrace.

³ No one who hopes in you
    will ever be put to shame,^(A)
but shame will come on those
    who are treacherous^(B) without cause.

⁷ Let the assembled peoples gather around you,
    while you sit enthroned over them on high.^(A)

³ The God of Israel spoke,
    the Rock^(A) of Israel said to me:
‘When one rules over people in righteousness,^(B)
    when he rules in the fear^(C) of God,^(D)
