²⁵ and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

²² ‘Now behold, all the ^(A)women who are left in the king of Judah’s house shall be surrendered to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women shall say:

^6 (A)So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah ^[a]the king’s son, which was in the court of the prison, and they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire. So Jeremiah sank in the mire.

^17 (A)Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. ¹⁸ The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, ^(B)and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. ¹⁹ And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. ²⁰ The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. ^21 (C)And all flesh died that moved on ^[a]the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. ²² All in ^(D)whose nostrils was the breath ^[b]of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died. ²³ So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only ^(E)Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.

³⁷ And He took with Him Peter and ^(A)the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. ³⁸ Then He said to them, ^(B)“My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
