²⁰ Our God is a God who saves;^(A)
    from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.^(B)

³⁹ “See now that I myself am he!^(A)
    There is no god besides me.^(B)
I put to death^(C) and I bring to life,^(D)
    I have wounded and I will heal,^(E)
    and no one can deliver out of my hand.^(F)

⁶ “The Lord brings death and makes alive;^(A)
    he brings down to the grave and raises up.^(B)

² Surely God is my salvation;^(A)
    I will trust^(B) and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself,^(C) is my strength^(D) and my defense^[a];
    he has become my salvation.^(E)”

¹⁷ I will not die^(A) but live,
    and will proclaim^(B) what the Lord has done.
