¹⁸ If I had cherished iniquity in my heart,
    the Lord would not have listened.^(A)

⁹ When one will not listen to the law,
    even one’s prayers are an abomination.^(A)

¹⁵ When you stretch out your hands,
    I will hide my eyes from you;
even though you make many prayers,
    I will not listen;
    your hands are full of blood.^(A)

²⁹ The Lord is far from the wicked,
    but he hears the prayer of the righteous.^(A)

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
    but the prayer of the upright is his delight.^(A)

¹³ If you close your ear to the cry of the poor,
    you will cry out and not be heard.^(A)

⁸ For what is the hope of the godless when God cuts them off,
    when God takes away their lives?^(A)
9 Will God hear their cry
    when trouble comes upon them?^(B)

²¹ Beware! Do not turn to iniquity;
    because of that you have been tried by affliction.^(A)
