² I have seen you in the sanctuary^(A)
    and beheld your power and your glory.^(B)

⁴ One thing^(A) I ask from the Lord,
    this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,^(B)
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
    and to seek him in his temple.

⁵ Blessed are those whose strength^(G) is in you,
    whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.^(H)
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
    they make it a place of springs;^(I)
    the autumn^(J) rains also cover it with pools.^[b]
7 They go from strength to strength,^(K)
    till each appears^(L) before God in Zion.^(M)

⁸ Hear my prayer,^(N) Lord God Almighty;
    listen to me, God of Jacob.
⁹ Look on our shield,^[c](O) O God;
    look with favor on your anointed one.^(P)

¹⁰ Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper^(Q) in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
¹¹ For the Lord God is a sun^(R) and shield;^(S)
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold^(T)
    from those whose walk is blameless.

⁶¹ He sent the ark of his might^(A) into captivity,^(B)
    his splendor into the hands of the enemy.

¹¹ Look to the Lord and his strength;
    seek^(A) his face always.

¹³ “The glory of Lebanon^(A) will come to you,
    the juniper, the fir and the cypress together,^(B)
to adorn my sanctuary;^(C)
    and I will glorify the place for my feet.^(D)

¹¹ They tell of the glory of your kingdom^(A)
    and speak of your might,^(B)
