¹ You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,^(A)
    my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.^(B)

    I thirst for you like a parched land.^[a]

² My soul yearns,^(A) even faints,
    for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
    for the living God.^(B)

¹ As the deer^(A) pants for streams of water,^(B)
    so my soul pants^(C) for you, my God.
² My soul thirsts^(D) for God, for the living God.^(E)
    When can I go^(F) and meet with God?

² I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge^(A) and my fortress,^(B)
    my God, in whom I trust.”
