    and show partiality to the wicked? Selah^(A)

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, wash your heart clean of wickedness
    so that you may be saved.
How long shall your evil schemes
    lodge within you?^(A)

²² “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple?
How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing
    and fools hate knowledge?^(A)

¹¹ If they plan evil against you,
    if they devise mischief, they will not succeed.^(A)

¹⁵ It was I who trained and strengthened their arms,
    yet they plot evil against me.^(A)

¹³ therefore this iniquity shall become for you
    like a break in a high wall, bulging out and about to collapse,
    whose crash comes suddenly, in an instant;^(A)
14 its breaking is like that of a potter’s vessel
    that is smashed so ruthlessly
that among its fragments not a sherd is found
    for taking fire from the hearth
    or dipping water out of the cistern.^(B)
