    How long^(C) will you harbor wicked thoughts?

²² “How long will you who are simple^(A) love your simple ways?
    How long will mockers delight in mockery
    and fools hate^(B) knowledge?

¹² Those who want to kill me set their traps,^(A)
    those who would harm me talk of my ruin;^(B)
    all day long they scheme and lie.^(C)

¹¹ Though they plot evil^(A) against you
    and devise wicked schemes,^(B) they cannot succeed.

¹⁵ I trained^(A) them and strengthened their arms,
    but they plot evil^(B) against me.

¹³ this sin will become for you
    like a high wall,^(A) cracked and bulging,
    that collapses^(B) suddenly,^(C) in an instant.
¹⁴ It will break in pieces like pottery,^(D)
    shattered so mercilessly
that among its pieces not a fragment will be found
    for taking coals from a hearth
    or scooping water out of a cistern.”
