⁵ For in death there is no remembrance of you;
    in Sheol who can give you praise?^(A)

¹⁰ Do you work wonders for the dead?
    Do the shades rise up to praise you? Selah^(A)
11 Is your steadfast love declared in the grave
    or your faithfulness in Abaddon?
¹² Are your wonders known in the darkness
    or your saving help in the land of forgetfulness?^(B)

¹⁷ The dead do not praise the Lord,
    nor do any who go down into silence.^(A)

⁹ “What profit is there in my death,
    if I go down to the Pit?
Will the dust praise you?
    Will it tell of your faithfulness?^(A)

¹⁸ For Sheol cannot thank you;
    death cannot praise you;
those who go down to the Pit cannot hope
    for your faithfulness.^(A)
19 The living, the living, they thank you,
    as I do this day;
fathers make known to children
    your faithfulness.^(B)

¹⁷ I shall not die, but I shall live
    and recount the deeds of the Lord.^(A)
