² I cry to God Most High,
    to God who fulfills his purpose for me.^(A)

⁸ The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
    your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
    Do not forsake the work of your hands.^(A)

    for indeed, all that we have done, you have done for us.^(A)

² O give thanks to the God of gods,
    for his steadfast love endures forever.^(A)
3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty one
    who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
I dwell in the high and holy place
    and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble
    and to revive the heart of the contrite.^(A)

² my enemies trample on me all day long,
    for many fight against me.
