² Attend to me, and hear me;

¹⁴ Like a crane or a swallow, so I chattered;
^(A)I mourned like a dove;
My eyes fail from looking upward.
O ^[a]Lord, I am oppressed;
^[b]Undertake for me!

¹⁹ But certainly God ^(A)has heard me;
He has attended to the voice of my prayer.

⁹ For I have eaten ashes like bread,
And mingled my drink with weeping,
¹⁰ Because of Your indignation and Your wrath;
For You have lifted me up and cast me away.

³ I remembered God, and was troubled;
I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah

Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

² For You are the God of my strength;
Why do You cast me off?

We look for justice, but there is none;
For salvation, but it is far from us.
