³⁵ Therefore He also says in another Psalm:

³⁶ “For David, after he had served ^[a]his own generation by the will of God, ^(B)fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and ^[b]saw corruption; ³⁷ but He whom God raised up ^[c]saw no corruption.

³³ God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm:

³¹ he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, ^(A)that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.

⁵¹ Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”

⁵² Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You ^(B)have a demon! ^(C)Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’

²² So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to ^(A)Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. ²³ And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
