The New Jerusalem

⁹ Then came ^(A)one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of ^(B)the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you ^(C)the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

¹⁹ So Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him on behalf of Adonijah. And the king rose to meet her and bowed down to her. Then he sat on his throne and had a seat brought for the king's mother, ^(A)and she sat on his right.

² And I saw ^(A)the holy city, ^(B)new Jerusalem, ^(C)coming down out of heaven from God, ^(D)prepared ^(E)as a bride adorned for her husband.

²⁶ that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by ^(A)the washing of water ^(B)with the word, ²⁷ so ^(C)that he might present the church to himself in splendor, ^(D)without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.^[a]

²⁴ By its light ^(A)will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth ^(B)will bring their glory into it,

^29 (A)The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. ^(B)The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, ^(C)rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.
