¹⁴ Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us ^[a]diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. ¹⁵ For we are to God the fragrance of Christ ^(A)among those who are being saved and ^(B)among those who are perishing. ^16 (C)To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And ^(D)who is sufficient for these things?

³⁹ And ^(A)Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of ^(B)myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.

¹¹ And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, ^(A)they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

²³ “Also take for yourself ^(A)quality spices—five hundred shekels of liquid ^(B)myrrh, half as much sweet-smelling cinnamon (two hundred and fifty shekels), two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet-smelling ^(C)cane, ²⁴ five hundred shekels of ^(D)cassia, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and a ^(E)hin of olive oil.

² looking unto Jesus, the ^[a]author and ^[b]finisher of our faith, ^(A)who for the joy that was set before Him ^(B)endured the cross, despising the shame, and ^(C)has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
