Psalm 44:9-16
New International Version
9 But now you have rejected(A) and humbled us;(B)
you no longer go out with our armies.(C)
10 You made us retreat(D) before the enemy,
and our adversaries have plundered(E) us.
11 You gave us up to be devoured like sheep(F)
and have scattered us among the nations.(G)
12 You sold your people for a pittance,(H)
gaining nothing from their sale.
13 You have made us a reproach(I) to our neighbors,(J)
the scorn(K) and derision(L) of those around us.
14 You have made us a byword(M) among the nations;
the peoples shake their heads(N) at us.
15 I live in disgrace(O) all day long,
and my face is covered with shame(P)
16 at the taunts(Q) of those who reproach and revile(R) me,
because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.(S)
Matthew 28:1-10
New International Version
Jesus Has Risen(A)
28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene(B) and the other Mary(C) went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake,(D) for an angel(E) of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone(F) and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.(G) 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid,(H) for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.(I) Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.(J) There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them.(K) “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers(L) to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
Romans 10:16-21
New International Version
16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news.(A) For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”[a](B) 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message,(C) and the message is heard through the word about Christ.(D) 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did:
19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,
“I will make you envious(F) by those who are not a nation;
I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”[c](G)
20 And Isaiah boldly says,
“I was found by those who did not seek me;
I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”[d](H)
21 But concerning Israel he says,
