2 The Lord is my (A)rock and my (B)fortress and my deliverer, my God, my (C)rock, in (D)whom I take refuge, my (E)shield, and (F)the horn of my salvation, my (G)stronghold.
5 (A)Remember, O Lord, what has befallen us; look, and see (B)our disgrace! 2 (C)Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our homes to foreigners. 3 We have become orphans, fatherless; our mothers are like widows. 4 We must pay for the water we drink; the wood we get must be bought. 5 (D)Our pursuers are at our necks; we are weary; we are given no rest. 6 We have given the hand to (E)Egypt, and to (F)Assyria, to get bread enough. 7 Our fathers sinned, and are no more; (G)and we bear their iniquities. 8 (H)Slaves rule over us; there is none to deliver us from their hand. 9 (I)We get our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the wilderness. 10 (J)Our skin is hot as an oven with (K)the burning heat of famine. 11 Women are raped in Zion, young women in the towns of Judah. 12 (L)Princes are hung up by their hands; (M)no respect is shown to the elders. 13 Young men are compelled to (N)grind at the mill, and boys stagger (O)under loads of wood. 14 (P)The old men have left the city gate, the young men (Q)their music. 15 (R)The joy of our hearts has ceased; (S)our dancing has been turned to mourning. 16 (T)The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!
23 (A)Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord? Rouse yourself! (B)Do not reject us forever! 24 Why (C)do you hide your face? Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?
15 (A)“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
4 (A)Again I (B)saw all (C)the oppressions that are done under the sun. And behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had (D)no one to comfort them! On the side of their oppressors there was power, and there was no one to comfort them.
6 (A)He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. 7 On God rests my (B)salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, (C)my refuge is God.
3 because of the noise of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked. For they (A)drop trouble upon me, and in anger they bear a grudge against me.
To the choirmaster: according to The Doe of the Dawn. A Psalm of David.
22 (A)My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so (B)far from saving me, from the words of my (C)groaning? 2 O my God, I cry by (D)day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.
26 But (A)when I hoped for good, evil came, and when I waited for light, (B)darkness came. 27 My inward parts are in turmoil and never still; days of affliction (C)come to meet me. 28 I (D)go about darkened, but not by the sun; I stand up in (E)the assembly and cry for help. 29 I am a brother of (F)jackals and a companion of (G)ostriches. 30 My (H)skin turns black and falls from me, and my (I)bones burn with heat. 31 My (J)lyre is (K)turned to mourning, and my (L)pipe to the voice of those who weep.
