^6 (A)Appoint a wicked man ^(B)against him;
    let an accuser stand ^(C)at his right hand.
⁷ When he is tried, let him come forth guilty;
    let his ^(D)prayer be counted as sin!
⁸ May his ^(E)days be few;
    may ^(F)another take his ^(G)office!
⁹ May his ^(H)children be fatherless
    and his wife a widow!
¹⁰ May his children ^(I)wander about and beg,
    ^(J)seeking food far from the ruins they inhabit!
¹¹ May ^(K)the creditor seize all that he has;
    may ^(L)strangers plunder the fruits of his toil!
¹² Let there be none to ^(M)extend kindness to him,
    nor any to ^(N)pity his fatherless children!
¹³ May his ^(O)posterity be cut off;
    may his ^(P)name be blotted out in the second generation!
¹⁴ May ^(Q)the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord,
    and let not the sin of his mother be ^(R)blotted out!
^15 (S)Let them be before the Lord continually,
    that he may ^(T)cut off the memory of them from the earth!

¹⁶ For he did not remember to show kindness,
    but pursued ^(U)the poor and needy
    and ^(V)the brokenhearted, to put them to death.
^17 (W)He loved to curse; let curses come^[a] upon him!
    He did not delight in blessing; may it be far^[b] from him!
¹⁸ He ^(X)clothed himself with cursing as his coat;
    may it ^(Y)soak^[c] into his body like water,
    like oil into his bones!
¹⁹ May it be like a garment that he wraps around him,
    like a belt that he puts on every day!
²⁰ May this be the reward of my ^(Z)accusers from the Lord,
    of those who speak evil against my life!

²¹ But you, O God my Lord,
    deal on my behalf ^(AA)for your name's sake;
    because your ^(AB)steadfast love is good, deliver me!

^22 (A)Let their own ^(B)table before them become a snare;
    ^(C)and when they are at peace, let it become a trap.^[a]
23 (D)Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see,
    ^(E)and make their loins tremble continually.
²⁴ Pour out your indignation upon them,
    and let your burning anger overtake them.
^25 (F)May their camp be a desolation;
    let no one dwell in their tents.
²⁶ For they ^(G)persecute him whom ^(H)you have struck down,
    and they recount the pain of ^(I)those you have wounded.
^27 (J)Add to them punishment upon punishment;
    may they have no acquittal from you.^[b]
28 Let them be ^(K)blotted out of the book of the living;
    let them not be ^(L)enrolled among the righteous.

⁸ Your hand will ^(A)find out all your enemies;
    your right hand will find out those who hate you.
⁹ You will make them as ^(B)a blazing oven
    when you appear.
The Lord will swallow them up in his ^(C)wrath,
    and ^(D)fire will consume them.
¹⁰ You ^(E)will destroy their ^(F)descendants from the earth,
    and their offspring from among the children of man.

³ But you, O Lord, are ^(A)a shield ^(B)about me,
    my glory, and ^(C)the lifter of my head.
