^13 (A)Remove Your gaze from me, that I may regain strength,
Before I go away and ^(B)am no more.”

¹⁰ But man dies and ^[a]is laid away;
Indeed he ^[b]breathes his last
And where is ^(A)he?
¹¹ As water disappears from the sea,
And a river becomes parched and dries up,
¹² So man lies down and does not rise.
^(B)Till the heavens are no more,
They will not awake
Nor be roused from their sleep.

^5 (A)Since his days are determined,
The number of his months is with You;
You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.
^6 (B)Look away from him that he may ^[a]rest,
Till ^(C)like a hired man he finishes his day.

^20 (A)Are not my days few?
Cease! ^(B)Leave me alone, that I may take a little comfort,
²¹ Before I go to the place from which I shall not return,
^(C)To the land of darkness ^(D)and the shadow of death,

¹⁹ How long?
Will You not look away from me,
And let me alone till I swallow my saliva?
