²⁸ For the Lord loves the just
    and will not forsake his faithful ones.^(A)

Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed^[a];
    the offspring of the wicked will perish.^(B)

²² but the wicked^(A) will be cut off from the land,^(B)
    and the unfaithful will be torn from it.^(C)

⁷ For the Lord is righteous,^(A)
    he loves justice;^(B)
    the upright^(C) will see his face.^(D)

¹⁰ You will destroy their descendants from the earth,
    their posterity from mankind.^(A)

²⁰     you will not join them in burial,^(A)
for you have destroyed your land
    and killed your people.

Let the offspring^(B) of the wicked^(C)
    never be mentioned^(D) again.
²¹ Prepare a place to slaughter his children^(E)
    for the sins of their ancestors;^(F)
they are not to rise to inherit the land
    and cover the earth with their cities.

¹⁴ However many his children,^(A) their fate is the sword;^(B)
    his offspring will never have enough to eat.^(C)
