³⁵ But love your enemies, do good to them,^(A) and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children^(B) of the Most High,^(C) because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. ³⁶ Be merciful,^(D) just as your Father^(E) is merciful.

Judging Others^(F)

³⁷ “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.^(G) Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.^{(H) 38} Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.^(I) For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”^(J)

⁸ Rather, be openhanded^(A) and freely lend them whatever they need. ⁹ Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought: “The seventh year, the year for canceling debts,^(B) is near,” so that you do not show ill will^(C) toward the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the Lord against you, and you will be found guilty of sin.^{(D) 10} Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart;^(E) then because of this the Lord your God will bless^(F) you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

³⁹ I will give them singleness^(A) of heart and action, so that they will always fear^(B) me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them.
