⁵ Why do I see them terrified?
    They have fallen back;
their warriors are beaten down
    and have fled in haste.
They do not look back—
    terror is all around!
            says the Lord.^(A)

² Let those be put to shame and confusion
    who seek my life.
Let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
    who desire to hurt me.^(A)
3 Let those who say, “Aha, Aha!”
    turn back because of their shame.^(B)

⁵ May all who hate Zion
    be put to shame and turned backward.^(A)

¹⁷ Do not let me be put to shame, O Lord,
    for I call on you;
let the wicked be put to shame;
    let them go dumbfounded to Sheol.^(A)
18 Let the lying lips be stilled
    that speak insolently against the righteous
    with pride and contempt.^(B)

¹⁴ Let all those be put to shame and confusion
    who seek to snatch away my life;
let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
    who desire my hurt.^(A)
15 Let those be appalled because of their shame
    who say to me, “Aha, Aha!”^(B)

²⁴ All day long my tongue will talk of your righteous help,
for those who tried to do me harm
    have been put to shame and disgraced.^(A)
